Doug passed away unexpectedly on May 9th, 2016. His loss has been felt deeply by all who knew him. Doug was an avid reader and lover of science fiction and amassed a large collection of books over the years, attended the first scifi and fantasy conventions, and met people who would become lifelong friends. He was the founder of the popular scifi blog SciFiGuy.ca. He was always striving to learn and evolve. Doug was a loving father and will be missed by his twin sons Leonard (Lisa) and Nathan, his sister Catherine (Jeff McGuire).
