Kobylnik Stan MM

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving father Stanislaus (Stanley) Kobylnik, in his 90th year. Born November 8, 1927 in Slowita, Poland. Immigrated to Canada on September 29, 1929.

Predeceased by wife of 62 years, Wilma Iola (Ritchie) 2014. Loved father of Cynthia Kobylnik-Smith (Lawrie) Wayne Kobylnik (Michelle) and Debbie Pavan (Rob). Grandpa will be sadly missed by Lindsay and Owen Pavan, Bianca Smith, Giulia and Aliscia Kobylnik. The oldest brother of Mary Dimond, Bernice Dimma, John, Frank and Dianna Harding. Brother-in-law to Marlene Howie Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

As a young boy dad was a member of the Air Cadets. He was a dedicated member of the Guelph Royalaires marching band playing the trumpet and helping them win many championships while making lifelong friends. Dad always had a dream of becoming a pilot but decided that carpentry was his calling. We'll never forget seeing his hard working hands at work building houses, airplanes, furniture or working in his beautiful garden. Summers were spent at Sauble Beach where he taught us how to enjoy golf, horseshoes, card games and the odd ‘Black Horse’. Retirement took him and mom to enjoy long summers in South River at their cottage ‘Freedom’.

Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Wednesday, February 15 from 6-9 p.m. and at Westminster-St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 206 Victoria Rd. N., Guelph on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. Memorial service will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the church hall.

Memorial contributions to Westminster-St. Paul’s Church, the Kidney Foundation, or St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Stanley Kobylnik in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
