KUPFERSCHMIDT, Erna Emma

Passed away, at the Guelph General Hospital, on Friday, May 20, 2016. Erna Emma (nee Grein) Kupferschmidt, in her 92nd year, was the beloved wife of the late Cletus William Kupferschmidt (1996). She was the dear mother of Gerry and Laura, William and Jeanette, Michael and Karen, Paul and Gary, and Mark and Brenda. Erna is lovingly remembered by eleven grandchildren Gerald Jr., Mary Beth, Sarah, Jonathon, Anthony, David, Philip, Jennifer, Katherine, Michelle and Nicole and by nine great-grandchildren Ashley, Melanie, Joshua, Matthew, Catherine, Daniel, Joseph, Nathan, and Evan. Erna is survived by three sisters, Vera Leeson, Doreen Sachs, and Betty Grein. She was predeceased by an infant son, Stanley, and by five brothers Harold, Leonard, Norvay, Herb and Arnold. 

Erna was devoted to her family. As family matriarch, she embodied true, unconditional love. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of sharing in her warmth. A more pure and selfless soul, no one could have ever met. 

Erna was a member of the CWL, Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate, and was the cornerstone of the family business at the Guelph Farmers' Market for well over half a century. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 25th, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Erna will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate, 28 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Thursday, May 26th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
