Kurisko, Blake

Passed away suddenly on Sat. March 26, 2016 as the result of a fall. He was 60 years old. Dearly loved husband to Jane Kurisko (Clubine), for 30 years. Father of Daniel, Carolyn and Diana. Beloved son of The Honourable Stanley Kurisko and Joan Skelton Kurisko of Thunder Bay. Brother of Kathy Hunt, Lee (Laraine) Kurisko, and Andrea Connolly. Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Blake enjoyed vacationing at the family cottage on Lake Superior. He graduated with an LLB from the University of Ottawa then went on to get his M.Div. at Ontario Theological Seminary. He practiced civil litigation at Gowlings in Kitchener then at Miller Thomson in Guelph. He was a source of great encouragement, humour, and wisdom in the lives of his children; he always wanted one-on-one time to discuss life and give his advice. Seemingly quiet, he was a man of great depth and carefully chosen words – a calming presence. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph for visitation Monday, March 28, 2016 at 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A service will take place at Calvary Baptist Church, 454 Arkell Rd. Guelph, Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 1:30 p.m., with a spring interment. Donations to the Guelph General Hospital Foundation or Heritage Theological Seminary, Cambridge would be appreciated.
