Posted

Lapierre Josee MM
Died peacefully at Hospice Wellington on Monday August 23, 2021 at the age of 65 years, following a long battle with cancer. Josée was the beloved wife for over 35 years of Clarence Swanton. Proud and loving mother of Ana, Stephanie and Lesley-Ann.  She was also grandmother of Emerson, who brought much joy to her life. Josée was the dear sister of Philippe (Diane), Richard (Marie-Claude) and Brigitte (Jean). Sister-in-law of Nancy Bryan (Eric) and Ethel Ker. Predeceased by sister-in-law Mary Romanik and brother-in-law Richard Cunningham. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

The family would like to thank the following individuals for their exceptional support during Josée’s final days: her sister Brigitte Lapierre, Stephanie Cantin, Josée Déry-Campbell, and Laura Brown.  Born in Longueuil, Quebec, she was predeceased by her parents; Andre Lapierre and Lise Juteau. Josee worked for over 20 years as a dedicated teacher at both the secondary and elementary levels. Her greatest joy was seeing her students succeed. She used her uncanny ability to explain complicated concepts with simple metaphors to make a difference in the lives of every teacher she was mentoring and every student she worked with. Josée also fully lived her faith. She taught within the youth program entitled “The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd” and was also part of the “Movement Des Cursillos” where she devoted herself to increasing the spirituality of her religious community.
