In her 90th year, Maisie passed away at Hospice Wellington On Wednesday night, January 4th, 2017. Loving wife, best friend and farming partner for over 60 years of the late Wallace Lasby (August 2007).  Admired and loved Mom of Bill, Bob, Cathy and David (Shirley).  Very proud and always supportive Grandma of Justin (Jaimie), Joshua and Jessica. Sadly missed by special brother-in-law, Joe Lasby. Admired and greatly respected by Stephen Lasby, Heather Wood, Patty Lasby, Linda (Jeff) Rogue and their children Carly and Blake, Peggy Marshall and her family and Marion McPhail and her family.

Predeceased by her parents Roy and Jean (Jackson) Gordon; her parents-in-law Charles and Florence (Swanston) Lasby, sisters and brothers in law, Marjorie and Neil McPhail and Hilda and Stewart Kerr, sister-in-law Shirley Lasby and nephew Jim McPhail.

Maisie was proud to be a farmer and a farmer's wife.  She spent her entire life in the farming community.  Because of her love of people of all ages, she was a leader and organizer for many organizations and events.  She was a faithful member of the Eden Mills Presbyterian Church, the Choir and the Presbyterian Women's group.  She was a very loyal member and leader in the Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario (Arkell, Eden Mills and Dublin Branches).  But her greatest joy was attending cattle shows where her grandchildren were competing so she could lead their cheering section.

Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Sunday (1-4 & 7-9 p.m.). A Celebration of Maisie's Life will be held at Eden Mills Presbyterian Church on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment at Eden Mills Community Cemetery.  Reception to follow in the church hall.  In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully encourages donations to the Eden Mills Presbyterian Church, The Keith Gilmore Foundation (agricultural scholarships) or Hospice Wellington.

A tree will be planted in memory of Maisie G. Lasby in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
