Lewis Stephen MM

(March 17, 1969 to March 8, 2017) - With great sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of Stephen S. Lewis, 47, on March 8, 2017. Loving brother of Andrea and her husband Paul Waldron, and dear son of Stephen Wm. and the late Patricia Lewis. Best friend to Savannah, his English Bull Terrier. Fondly remembered by the Robertson, Crayden and Lewis families. Sadly missed by a remarkable group of friends who fondly remember him as “Lewis”. Stephen was kind, smart, knowledgeable and funny. He was an avid reader and book lover. He loved all dogs, an affection that was equally returned. Stephen attended the Ottawa School of Art, and Sheridan College for Animation. A talented and creative artist he always had a project on the go. He will be most fondly remembered for the handcrafted gifts he made for his friends and their children.

Diagnosed with cancer in 2014, Stephen overcame it with humour and aplomb. The radiation however damaged his lymph nodes and the resulting lymphedema led to complications. Thanks to Dr Dason, Dr Golu and the GGH staff for keeping him comfortable. Respecting Stephen’s wishes cremation has taken place. Both a family get together, and a celebration of his life for friends will be held in the Spring. Condolences may be sent to www.wallcustance.com. As expressions of sympathy, please continue reading books and patting dogs.

A tree will be planted in memory of Stephen S. Lewis in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
