LINHART Margaret

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Linhart… “Baba” to all that knew and loved her, at the age of 78 on January 7, 2018. Born in Budapest Hungary, Baba came to Canada in 1956 where she met and fell in love with the man she would spend the rest of her life with, her beloved husband Vaclav (Vasek). Predeceased by her loving daughter Eva, cherished mother of David and Karen (Bruce). Adoring Nana to Wesley and J.J. and beloved aunt to Mirek (Isabel) and Gigi.

She had a passion for cooking, loved music and singing, and her Harlequin romance novels. She was always there with a smile, a warm hello, and a pot of something savory on the stove. “Have you eaten?” was her favourite greeting. Her family and friends were everything to her. She will be dearly missed. Everyone loved Baba.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Wellington Terrace for their loving care and compassion during the last months of her life.

A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Ebenezer United Church, 12274 Guelph Line, R.R. #1. Campbellville. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., and the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the church hall.

Memorial contributions to Ebenezer United Church would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Margaret Linhart in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 2:30 pm.
