LOUDON, Helen Jennie (nee Armstrong)

Passed away peacefully on May 22nd at the Elliott Community in Guelph.   Born Feb. 22, 1920 in Arthur, Ontario, Helen lived a full hundred years. 
 
She was predeceased by her husband Ken and her sisters Verda and Dorothy.   She is survived by her brother Bert of Owen Sound.
 
An optimistic and charming lady, Helen earned the love and respect of those she met as a teacher, neighbour, Baptist Church member or friend.  She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
 
Helen had a full life teaching elementary school, travelling, dancing, making music and painting.  She was an amazing baker and gardener.  The Blue Jays will be missing an avid fan.
 
A private service and burial will take place at the Shelburne Cemetery on Friday, May 29th, 2020.  A celebration of Helen’s life will follow at a later date (to be determined).

Helen’s family wishes to express their sincerest thanks to the caring and dedicated staff at The Elliott Community. 
 
Helen supported many charities.  As an expression of sympathy to the family, a donation to any charity would have made Helen happy.
 
 A tree will be planted in memory of Helen J. Loudon in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum.
