Passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in his 58th year.
Beloved husband of Kim (Cartwright) for 28 years.
Cherished father of Shannon.
Predeceased by his children Ian and Elisha, and his parents Douglas and Vera MacPherson.
Survived by his sisters Anne McRae (Don), Sheila Martin, Mary MacPherson-Gaul (Jack), his nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Doug was an employee with Hitachi Construction Truck Manufacturing in Guelph and he was a long-time ball player with the Men's Slow-Pitch recreational league.
Special thanks to the nurses and Doctors who cared for Doug at the Guelph General Hospital for their care and compassion.
A celebration of Doug’s life will take place at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. with a time of reflection at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
