MacTAVISH, Stuart James

(July 6, 1933 – May 8, 2019) - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a great man.  Stuart passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, at the age of 85 years. He was a wonderful father, brother, uncle, grandpa, grampa Stu, great papa and will be fondly remembered by many.  Stuart leaves behind; wife Muriel, children; Linda Ringer (George), Ron MacTavish (Heather), Beverley Wagner (Brian), their families and sister Jean Speers. Predeceased by his first wife, Eileen (1971), son Dale (2008) and Sister Lorene (2003). Dad recently lost his best fur friend and sidekick, Lily.  We would like to thank Dr. Cary Shafir, Bayshore nurses; Catrina, Catherine and Donna as well as PSWs Krista and Rachel for their exceptional care of our father.
Special thanks to Beverley & Brian. Dad enjoyed living at your home the past few years. He appreciated everything that you did for him.  At Stuart’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral.  Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, (519-824-0031).  We invite you to leave your memories and donations online and they will be forwarded to the family.
