It is with heavy hearts our family announces the sudden passing of Peter Manning on Sunday, August 29th, 2021. In his 90 years he has been a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.

Peter is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years Myra, his three daughters; Helen (Donald), Gillian and Sarah (Victor). He was much loved by his five grandchildren; John (Char), Ian, Amanda, Alex and Jocelyn, as well as his two great grandchildren Mackenzie and Joseph.

Peter emigrated from England with his wife, where they went on to raise their three daughters together. With family remaining the focus, Peter built a successful professional career as an Engineer. After many years in the industry he retired as a respected business owner. He had an

active retirement where he enjoyed travelling, spending time with family and friends, and a good game of golf.

In his personal time, he devoted countless hours coaching track & field, cultivating the successes of athletes from the Junior to Olympic level. Peter was the recipient of many awards for his coaching

and contribution to athletics. Most notably, being inducted into the Athletics Canada Hall of Fame in 2017.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the first responders and emergency personnel for their rapid response and care. Special thanks to Dr. Phillips and the team at Groves Memorial Hospital.

There will be a private family service to be followed by a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Athletics Canada Foundation or Groves Memorial Hospital.
