It is with sadness the McDonald family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother Barbara.
Barbara Arnott (Adie) McDonald on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 of the Royal City of Guelph, Ontario and of our great country of Canada passed away at the age of 96 years.
Barbara will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three children and their spouses, Janice Ann McDonald (Wayne T. Grant), John Douglas McDonald (Beth McDonald), and James Reid McDonald (Kim McDonald), as well as grandchildren, Sarah, Michael, Alley, and Shelby.
Barbara was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years John Douglas McDonald who passed on March 12, 2002 at age 73. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Betsy Roger Seth Adie and William Foggo Adie. Barbara was also predeceased by three siblings, Anne Foggo Adie Hillis (Harold Victor Crawford Hillis), Beatrice Seth Adie, and Isabelle Mary Adie Palmer (Elmer Bryne Palmer).
Barbara spent many years working at Gay Lea Foods, as well as H&R Block.
The family wishes to send a very special thank you to the 4th floor staff at Guelph General Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Health Centre for their ongoing care and compassion.
A private family service was held Thursday, June 16th 2022 at Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph.
Over the years Barbara often made generous donations to many local and worldwide charities. In Barbara’s honour, we invite you to donate to a charitable organization of your choice.
A tree will be planted in memory of Barbara A. McDonald in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
