Passed away peacefully with family on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 at the Guelph General Hospital in her 85th year. Predeceased by her son Daniel (age 2) and husband Kenneth. Loved mother of Peter (Kathy) McEwen of Hanover and Scott (Beverly) of Guelph. Loving grandmother (Meme) of Andrew (Melanie), Blake (Lisa), Katie (Adam), Mary-Ellen (Rob) and Robert. Dear great grandmother of Claire, Cole, Grace and Sawyer. Dear sister of Ruth Lefler, Mike Currie and the late Peter Currie. Mary was born and raised in Nottawasaga Township, attended Normal School in Toronto, and taught in one-room schools in Collingwood Township. She married Ken in 1954 and they spent 55 happy years together, living in New Liskeard, Walkerton, Ridgetown and Guelph. They thoroughly enjoyed summers at their cottage near Hanover. Mary was passionate about her family and friends. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors of the Guelph General Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion.
