After a long and happy life, Ron McHattie passed away peacefully on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the age of 86 years.  He was a devoted husband and father, had a successful business career and was well known for his integrity and sense of humour.  He is survived by his wife Barb, his children Lynda Prior, Cathy Fallis (Kent), Sandy Tunney (Phil) and Ron McHattie Jr.;  Grandchildren Chris Prior, Jennifer, Jason, Drew Tunney, Vanessa Kincade, Michael Fallis, Mitchell and Rachel McHattie and 8 Great Grandchildren who will all remember him with fond affection.  Special gratitude to the staff at GGH and Hospice Wellington for their exceptional care and compassion.  A private family memorial has taken place.  Arrangements entrusted GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (519-824-0031).  In lieu of flowers and if desired, memorial contributions to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated.
