MCLACHLAN, Douglas Eldon

(July 7, 1938 - June 20, 2019) - Mr. Douglas McLachlan passed away
unexpectedly at the Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, June 20, 2019
at the age of 80 years. He was the loving and caring husband of Dolores
(nee Lahay) for 57 years and father of Duane, Darren (Maria), and Debra
(Nat Visentin). Doug was grandfather to Sarah (Patrick Brown), Melissa;
Whitney, Ryan (Kelly); Zachary, Brock, Richard, and Nathan. He was the
proud great-grandfather of Benjamin Brown. Douglas was predeceased
by his parents: Eldon and Nellie McLachlan and in-laws: William and Susan
Lahay; as well as sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Tony Calderone.
Doug will be missed by siblings: Beverly(late Frank) Morano, Aldean(Ted)
Childerhose, Doreen(late Len) Adams, and Don(Susan) McLachlan, He will
be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. "Yogi"
was a long-standing foreman at Dayton-Walther Canada, Ltd. before it closed
as well as a maintenance employee at the University of Guelph. "Bear" enjoyed:
fishing, hunting, camping, boating, and woodworking.

Thank you to the nurses and doctors in the Emergency and Intensive Care
units at the Guelph General Hospital. On behalf of Doug's wishes, there
will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place. Memorial
donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the
family. A tree will be planted to honour Doug's memory.
