Peacefully with his loving family by his side at Hospice Wellington on Friday, December 2, 2016, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Gail Wallace. Predeceased by his wife Anne (1992). Loving father to Robert McLaren, Mary Illman (Delford), Nancy Gallant (Michael), Douglas McLaren, Dale Wallace (Suzanne) and Julie Paton. Predeceased by his daughter Joanne (1977). Cherished grandfather of Sarah (Andrew), Leane, Jessie, Rebecca, Katie, Christian, Bray and Grayson. He is survived by brother-in-law Brian Farrell. He grew up in Avening, ON, and graduated from U of T (Guelph Campus) in 1950. After graduation, he continued to work on the family farm for 12 years before moving to Guelph to work for the Ministry of Agriculture for 25 years. In his retirement years, he relished his travels, camping trips, and any opportunities to spend time with his loving family.
Family and friends are invited to the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, where visitation will take place on Monday December 5, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in our chapel on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. A private interment will take place at a later date.
