Formerly of Guelph, passed away peacefully at Port Colborne Hospital on Tuesday, June 25 2019, with his four daughters by his side, in his 96th year. 

Beloved husband of the late Julia (Judy) Carter (February 23, 2007).  Predeceased by twin daughter Susan (Reed) Coghlin (February 23, 2011).

Our dad, and hero, will be truly missed by Paula (Robert) Bacon, Lynn (Larry) Layne, Michele (Kenneth) King and Christine (Ronald) Kleinveld. 

Dear grandpa to ten grandchildren: Scott, Mark, Brad, Karyn, Tim, Kerri-Lynn, Laurie-Anne, Braddock, Michael and Julie.  Survived by seventeen great grandchildren, plus one to arrive in August: Lauren, Luke, Dylan, Andrew, Ross, Calvin, Sophie, Sawyer, Ethan, Skylar, Sydney, Ilya, Noah, Hudson, Hendrick, Lucas and Eliza.  Dear brother of Shirley Jolly. Predeceased by brothers Leo (Audrey), Raymond (Mary) and Marcel (Ethel). Fondly remembered by Ed Jolly and Ken Marcon.

Respecting our father’s request, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 519-822-0051. If desired, expressions of condolence to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Trust would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of R. Paul Melancon n the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2:30 pm.
