MERRITT, Elizabeth Ann

Betty passed away peacefully, with family by her side at the Elliott Community, on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at the age of 80 years.  This shining light has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  She was the beloved wife of the late John (2015) for nearly 58 years.  Loving mother of John (René), Bruce (Karen) and Paul (Kelley).  Betty was the grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 3.  She will be missed and fondly remembered by her sister, Irene Lewis, her sisters and brothers in law; Joan Yurchuk, Marilyn, Don, Daniel and Beverley Merritt, many nieces, nephews, caregivers and friends.  For the last 45 years, Betty was the proud and dedicated owner of Candies of Merritt and her leadership will be greatly missed.  Special thanks to the incredible staff of the Elliott LTC unit – past and present.  You all meant so much to Betty and her family.  Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph for a funeral service on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with visiting for one hour prior.  A reception will follow in the Trillium room of the funeral home, then interment will take place at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens cemetery in Fonthill.  Memorial contributions to the Elliott Community or to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
