Passed away suddenly at home on Friday, July 15, 2022, at the age of 77.
Ken was born on the family farm where he loved horseback riding. He married the love of his life, Bernice Clark, at twenty-one years of age. Due to severe allergies, he could not take over the family farm, and he became a tool and die maker. He spent most of his career at Blount International, where he was deeply respected and made many friendships. Ken and Bernice chose the lovely village of Eden Mills to raise their three children: Tim (Catherine), Steve and John (Pon). They retired to the crystal blue shores of Lake Manitou, Manitoulin Island where Ken loved fishing.
Ken dearly cherished his grandchildren: Ashley (Jamy), Emily and Aasia and his great-grandchild Elliott. He was the dear brother of George (Sheila), and the late Carol Schwartzentruber (Calvin) and the son-in law of Ada Harvey (Aubrey).
He will be resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends and relatives for visitation on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. There will be an internment for close family at Eden Mills Presbyterian Church at later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
