OROBONO, Assunta

Passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, January 3, 2019. Assunta (Altomare) Orobono in her 89th year, was the beloved wife of Luigi Orobono of Guelph. She was the loving mother of Filippo Orobono (Jennifer) and Vincenzo Orobono all of Guelph. Assunta was the proud Nonna of Destiny, Ciara, Olivia, Lukis, Thomas. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters in Italy and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Assunta was born in Rogliano, Cosenza, Italy and emigrated to Canada where she wed Luigi at Sacred Heart Church in Guelph.

Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive their friends on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Assunta will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Rosary Church 175 Emma St., Guelph, on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment in Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School Friends of the Orphans Dominican Republic would be appreciated by the family.
