Rodger passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on Saturday March 17, 2018 with his wife Jane at his side at age 67. He is predeceased by his children, Jason (1993) and Sarah (2008], survived by Sarah’s Daughters Grace and Lucy, who call him “Pops”.

Rodger was born in Hamilton Ontario, graduated from MM Robinson High School and Sheridan College. Rodger and Jane married in 1972 and lived for many years in Northern Ontario before settling in Guelph in 1986. In 2015, Rodger retired from McNeil Consumer Health Care, which then gave him time for his other passions, golf and being with the Staff and Students at College Heights Secondary School. He had volunteered at College Heights for 20 years and for the last 2 years had been working in the Auto Mechanics area. Rodger believed that with nurturing and guidance, every child could reach their potential and he sincerely hoped that he had made a difference in the lives of all the students that he had had the opportunity to spend time with. One of Rodger’s final trips was to the school he dearly loved and to have some very special time with the staff and students.

Rodger spent his summers on the golf course, where life long friendships were formed. He would admit that he wasn’t a great golfer, but a day on the course was well spent. His gentle spirit, kindness to others, warped sense of humour and the twinkle in his eye will be missed. Rodger, you were loved by many.

Our heartfelt thanks to The Guelph General Hospital and Hospice Wellington, for the excellent care

that Rodger received. If desired, memorial contributions to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated.
