It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Dave Pettitt on January 19, 2023.

Dave will be forever missed by his incredible daughter, London. She was apple of his eye and he lived every day for her. Dave was the loving son of Faye and the late Dave Pettitt, brother of Chris Pettitt (Angie Strome), grandson of Grace and the late Maurice Charlesworth. He was the cherished Uncle and great uncle to Kyla (Dalton), Alyssa, Tyler (Wynter), Brittany, Rayne, Navy and Hannah. He will be greatly missed by his Aunty Lynn, Dean, Cassandra (Brad), Caitlyn and Oliver. He was beloved by His extended family through his former partner Cindy; Dorothy, Bill, Billy and Debby. His partner, Sharon, was fortunate to enjoy many good times with him during their short time together. Dave had countless friends that treasured him - he was loved by all that knew him.

For over 25 years Dave owned and operated Dave’s Messenger Service. Started in the late 90s by him and his father, DMS was a same day courier company specializing in emergency rush service. Dave continued the legacy after his father’s passing in 2011 with his brother in law Billy. Dave was very well known in the community as the “RUSH” guy. HE will be greatly missed by all of his customers that he saw on a daily basis. HE was very highly regarded as the best courier driver in town and his customers both trusted and respected him greatly.

Dave’s greatest love was his daughter, London. He always considered the day that she was born as the greatest day of his life. Dave loved London fiercely and everyone that met him knew that within 2 minutes of knowing him...he was not shy about it!

Dave’s second greatest love was his Mustang. Purchased brand new at the age of 19 he took care of that car like it was his baby. Later in life Dave inherited his grandfather’s 1931 Plymouth Roadster. In the summer DAve could be found at various car shows or cruising around town in it with London in the rumble seat.

To say that Dave was a special person is an understatement. With a smile on his face, a spring in his step and a twinkle in his eye he brought joy and laughter to all those who knew him.
