PORTEOUS, Moira Mackenzie

Passed away suddenly in her 82nd year, on Friday, August 11, 2017, at the Guelph General Hospital. Moira was the beloved wife and best friend of Hume and the cherished mother of Kathryn (Ralph) of Sydney, Aus and Anne (Jonathan) of Guelph. Born in Guyana, Moira was the daughter of Sydney and Cath Smith (deceased) of Scotland. She leaves to mourn, her sister Ailsa Anderson (the late George) of Shetland and brother-in-law Adam Porteous of Leven, Scotland and also by numerous nieces and nephews. 

Moira loved to work helping people and worked for many years at the Sears Catalogue Department and at the Ministry of Transportation license office on Woodlawn Rd. 

Family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a service to commemorate Moira’s life at 12:00 p.m. If so desired, memorial donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre, St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton or to Share Agriculture Foundation would be appreciated.
