Born in Halifax, NS, in his 98th year, it is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Harry Purcell. Harry was a proud veteran of WWII and served his country honourably through his service with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). He will be truly missed by all.  

Predeceased by loving wife the late Leona Purcell (Young) d. 2003 and second wife the late Diane Purcell (Hodges) d. 2016.  Loving father to the late Bruce Purcell d. 2012 (Sandra), Bill Purcell (Kelly), Carol Carman, Paul Purcell (Carol Ann), and the late Patricia Purcell d. in infancy.

Amazing loving Papa to Stacey Purcell (Del Rogers), Bonnie Purcell (Dave Galant), Laura Gowing (Chris), Elaine Holborn (Martin), Vikki McKee (Dwayne), Kristen Carman (Mike Wilkins), Paul Carman (Stephanie Coish), Candice Carman (Andrew Edwards), Mandy Purcell, Kyle Purcell and many great grandchildren.  Special Uncle to Gail Young (Mike); brother in-law to Allen Young and Diane Young and loved uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Special Harry to Sandy Vanleeuwen and Special Papa to Greg Hare, Kathy Hare, Jim Hare, Sandy-Lee Hare and Sheila Hare.  Predeceased by his parents and siblings.  Harry has truly touched hearts of many over the years and has left a lasting impression on all.  Cremation is taking place.  Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the memorial service following in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. complete.  Private family inurnment at Woodlawn Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.  We invite you to leave your condolences and donations online at www.gilchristchapel.com
