RHODES-McCULLEY, Dorothy

Posted

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Rhodes-McCulley, peacefully with her loving husband Doug by her side on July 22, 2016 at Hospice Wellington.  Talented and loving wife of Douglas Garfield McCulley.  Dorothy will be missed by her three children; Leslie Elizabeth Eaton, Robert Craig Connell and Leigh Anne Connell, stepdaughter Jane Rhodes, stepson Ronnie Rhodes and five grandchildren.

Dottie had an adventurous life for all of her years, and had many incredible trips with her husband Doug.  She made all who knew her feel special, and we are all better people for having known her.  A devout woman, she used her talents in many choirs in the United States and Canada, most recently at her church of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guelph.  We are thankful to her Pastor Dr. Jon Fogleman and Pastor Jeff Smith for comforting her in the last days and for the most dignified and respectful care offered by all the kind people at Hospice Wellington.  As per Dottie’s wishes, a service will be held in Akron, Ohio.  Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 519-822-0051.  Memorial contributions to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Dorothy Rhodes-McCulley in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2:30 pm.
