RINEHART, Frederick Bertram (Fred)

Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, July 10, 2016, in his 97th year. Beloved husband of Georgina Rinehart (Jean).   Fred was born on the family farm on the 3rd Concession of Nassagaweya Township, Halton County on August 22, 1919.  Predeceased by his parents Frank and Clara (nee Bell) Rinehart.  Survived by sister Audrey Sutton, many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Dearly loved by the Thomson Clan.  Predeceased by brothers Jack (Mary) and Roy and brother-in-law George.  Fred loved to dance and didn’t miss many dances.  He was an active member of the Historical Automobile Society and the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America for many years.  He toured all over Canada in his beautifully restored 1940 Chevrolet.  Fred and Jean made many wonderful and lasting friendships, and saw so much of our beautiful Canada.  He was a proud 65 year member of the Speed Lodge #180 A.F. & A.M.

Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Wednesday (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.).  Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.  Interment Eden Mills Cemetery.  A Masonic Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.  If desired, memorial contributions to the Foundation of the Guelph General Hospital or The Elliott Community would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Frederick B. Rinehart in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2:30 pm.
