Passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, March 31, 2016. Harry Robertson, in his 94th year, was the beloved husband of the late Grace (Dunan) (2011) for 65 years. He was the loving father of Donna Reeves of New Hamburg, Janet (Ian Alexander) of Pickering, Kathy (Bob MacLean) of Guelph and Tom (Karen) of Peachland, B.C. Harry was the proud grandfather of Peter (Linden), Joe (Jess), Karen (Kris), David (Emily), Heather (Curtis), Jennifer (Kyle), Bryan, Pamela (Carl) and Garrett and delighted great-grandfather of Jacob, Henry, Mia, Alice, and Austin. He was the dear brother of Stan of Toronto, and Bruce (Terry) of Aurora. Predeceased by his son-in-law Joe Reeves. Harry was a veteran of WWII. He served proudly as a Captain with the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment), Montreal and co-founded The Black Watch Cadets following the war. Harry worked for the CPR for over 45 years, and retired as their Chief Purchasing Agent. After retiring to Guelph, Grace and Harry enjoyed volunteering with the Evergreen Seniors Centre. He will be sadly missed by his many bridge friends. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, 99 Woolwich St., Guelph on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ralph Blackman officiating. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Guelph Wellington Seniors Association or to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
