(1942-2018) – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne on January 14, 2018 at Barnswallow Place in Elmira, due to health complications from his vascular dementia. Beloved husband of 45 years to Jayne, much loved father to Amanda (Terry) May and “Grumpy” to Eric and Kate May. Also sadly missed by his nieces Cindy (Gerry) Hartung, Kristine (Jim) Cox and their families, sister-in-law Rosanna Rolfe, niece Katrina (Paul) DaSilva, nephew Jesse (Jill) Rolfe and their families. Wayne is predeceased by his parents John (1979) and Kathleen (2001), sister “Kasey” Mitchell (2016), brother-in-law Fred Mitchell (2011), nephew Bradley Mitchell (2001), brother-in-law John Rolfe (2011) and parents-in-law Jack and Joan Rolfe (2014 and 2016).
The family would like to express their very sincere love and gratitude to all the staff at Robins Grove, Barnswallow Place, for their unfailing and compassionate care during Wayne’s three years in residence. A memorial gathering to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Guelph Humane Society, the Alzheimer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Wayne J. Robinson in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 2:30 pm.
