Matthew Scott, 29 years old, born February 27, 1990 and brought up in North Salem, Ontario, was in a tragic motorcycle accident on July 2, 2019. He was cared for at Hamilton General Hospital and succumbed to his injuries on July 11, 2019. Matt donated his lungs to a recipient in need, and lungs were successfully transplanted on the morning of July 12. Signing up for organ donation is encouraged by the family.
Matt was predeceased by grandfathers, Vernon and Jim. He was survived by his parents, Jan and Russ, his two children Hailey and Trenton, his sister Maggie and his grandmothers Shirley and Merle.
Matt was a vibrant soul. He would enter a room and immediately seek out someone that was in need of a smile or laugh. He would approach them and accomplish his good intentions by sending a surge of positive vibes and energy that made people feel worthwhile and welcome. Matt was funny, artistic, energetic, genuine, proud, loyal and all around fun!
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 27th, 2019 at the Elora Community Centre, 29 David St. West, Elora from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Words of Remembrance will begin at 3:00 pm.
