1943-2016 Passed away on Easter Sunday, March 27th after a long illness. Loving husband of 50 years to Penny. Cherished father of Tyler (Rachel), Thomas (Lisa) and Travis (Jennifer). Beloved Grandfather to Rebecca, Siobhan, Bennett, Charlie, Fletcher and Mikayla. He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley, Arlene, Sylvia & Janette. Bill was involved in the insurance industry in Ontario for over 40 years, co-founding Bennett Seaman Insurance Adjusters, with Tom Bennett in 1973. The firm enjoyed lasting success with offices in Kitchener, Guelph and Woodstock. Before his retirement, Bill served as President of the IILA (International Institute of Loss Adjusters) and numerous other industry associations. Bill and Penny enjoyed travel to many countries over the years and spending time at their cottage on beautiful Georgian Bay surrounded by their family and friends. They loved to walk on the Bruce Trail and had many family ski vacations over the years. Bill will be so dearly missed by his family and friends. A special thank-you to the staff at Cambridge Country Manor for the care that Bill received during his time there. Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 1-2 p.m. Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Reception in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society or to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of William (Bill) Seaman in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2:30 pm.
