Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on Saturday, December 30th, 2017, in his 91st year.
Beloved husband of the late Marjorie Ann Lewis (Feb 2009).
Loved father of Phyllis (Terry) Few. Janet (Darrell) Babcock and stepfather to Bill (Myrle) Spencer, Lori McMillan and Pattie Currie (Beth Denley).
Loving grandfather of Eric, Sheila, Colin, Victoria, Byron, Craig, Matthew, Kristen and Teren.
Great grandfather of 10 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by a stepdaughter Terri Currie and a granddaughter Amanda Ainslie.
Gavin spent his working life at Hammond Manufacturing starting in the shipping department and retiring as Manager of the Warehouse. He spent his retirement travelling with Ann, woodworking, walking at the mall each morning and taking his dog for long walks at the University Arboretum.
A funeral service will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 2 pm. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.

Gavin spent the last two years of his life at Wellington Park Terrace where he found a warmth and friendship.
