SHEACH, Ruby Jean (Matthews)

(March 21, 1926 - March 13, 2017) - In her 91st year, Ruby passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Health Care Center Guelph on March 13th. Fourth child born to Milford and Annie Matthews of Egremont Township. Loving mother of three sons, David (Sandy) of Big Bay, ON, Robert (Barbara) of Markstay, ON and Angus (Debbie) of Kitchener, ON.  Predeceased by her loving husband David Sheach of Letham, Angushire, Scotland. Ruby was a long service employee and retiree of Bell Canada where she was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a devoted member of St. James the Apostle Anglican Church where she served on the Altar Guild for many years. Her interests were many but her greatest loves were her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Proud Grandma of her grandchildren, Alyssa (Ryan) Henry, Christopher ((Laura) Sheach, Beth Sheach, Meredith (Dan) Hook, and the late Alastair Sheach. Also survived by great grandchildren Carter, Lauren, Aeryck, Quinn and Ceili. Predeceased by her siblings, the late Mary (Jack) McCarthy, Arthur (Islay) Matthews, Robert Matthews, George (Shirley) Matthews, Donald Matthews, Violet (Fred) Gooch and Edith Marshall.  Survived by brother Bev Matthews and his wife Doreen, bother-in-law Gordon Marshall and sister-in-law Marion Matthews.

Visitation on Sunday, March 19th, 2pm - 4 pm at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 20th, 11:00 am at St. James the Apostle, 86 Glasgow Street North, Guelph. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity or church of your choice would be appreciated. Condolences may be left at www.wallcustance.com.

A tree will be planted in memory of Ruby J. Sheach in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
