Called home to the Lord on Nov 24th, 2017. Dearly loved youngest daughter of Joan Slemin and the late Richard Slemin. Dear sister of Elaine Caldwell and her husband Jim Caldwell, and of Randy Slemin and his wife Teresa Tsang. Dear Aunt of Kelly Caldwell (Wil), Chris (Sarah), and Beth and Jeff Slemin. Devoted mother of Heather Allison (née Barnes) and her husband, Father Philotheos Allison, and to Alex Barnes and his partner, Olivia Lampel. Kate was a beloved grandmother to Seraphina, Ian, and Elias Allison. She was a devoted cat mom to many feline friends, including Felix and Eevee. In her teens and twenties, Kate enjoyed pageant competition, and was thrilled to be crowned Miss Gravenhurst and also Muskoka Winter Carnival Snow Queen. Known as "Madame" to her many French students over her 30 year teaching career, Kate brought her love of music to her work. She loved singing at school masses and was a member of the Board Choir. Kate enjoyed being a Fifth Avenue Jeweller. She invites family and friends to wear their most sparkling jewellery to her visitation and funeral. 

Visitation will be held at Gilbert Macintyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 from 6:30-8:30PM. There will also be a visitation time offered on Wednesday,November 29th, 2017 from 10:30-11:15AM at St. James the Apostle Anglican Church. Funeral will begin at 11:30AM at the church, followed by a light lunch in the church hall. Donations to the charity of your choice, especially animal welfare organizations, are appreciated. Donation cards are available at the funeral home 519-822-4731. 

Special appreciation to oncologist Dr Stacey Hubay, Grand River Hospital, whose uplifting spirit was always good medicine.
