It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Leona Marie (nee Mitchell) Smith at the age of 83 formerly of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on November 28 2016. Beloved wife of Angus for 64 years. Loved mother of Joan Levesque (Clarence) Ottawa, Roberta Fisher (Stephen ) Simond, New Brunswick, Doug Smith (Edna) Florida, Colleen Quarrie (Jeff) Elora, Anita Molto (Paul) Kitchener, and the late Paul Smith (Nov 24 1993). Leona leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Roy Mitchell (Sue), her sister Rita McKillop (Darrell) and many nieces and nephews. Leona was the daughter of the late Murray & Helena Mitchell of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia.
At Mom's request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. We would like to thank all the staff at Twin Oaks of Maryhill Nursing Home.
