Cherished Grandmother to Rebecca (Becky), Tracey (deceased), Chris (Alysia), Jeremy (Jen), Jody (Roy), Laurie Bruce (Kevin), Andrea Stoddart, Jason Stoddart (Wendy), Tammy Stoddart (Lance Gibson), Bobbie Price (Raymond), Stephen Stoddart (Elizabeth), Geoffrey Stoddart (Michelle Carr), Kim Rice (Len), Karl Rutherford (Lory), Rachael, Tyler, Michael, Sebastian, Casandra, Jamie May, Ashley (Julian Paul), Taylor May, David Stoddart. Loving Great Grandmother to 30 great grandchildren and Great Great Grandmother to 4 great great grandchildren. Survived by her sisters Marion Ferguson and Lillian Ingram.  Predeceased by her parents Reginald and Irene Task, and brothers Don, Bob, Lesley, Doug and sister Barb. Marie was a devoted and loving mother of 8 children. She managed to balance her family’s care along with a professional career of nursing school, being an operator at Bell Telephone Company, an avid antique collector/dealer, and being a licensed real estate broker at the family owned and run business. Marie found the time to bake, make jams, jellies, and an assortment of pickles for the family while looking after 2 homes and a cottage. To say she was a busy woman was an understatement. A special thank you to all of the nursing and kitchen staff at Wellington Terrace for the kindness and special attention given to our mother, it was greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of Life for Marie will be held at Melville United Church, 300 St Andrew Street, Fergus, Ontario on Monday May 27, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Sick Childrens Hospital of Toronto in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted with the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home.
