Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Extended Care at 82 years of age on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
Loving wife of Walter for 62 years. Mother of Cindy Wahlstrom of Guelph, Alan (Avril) of Newmarket and Dave (Tanja) of Tokyo, Japan. Grandmother of Cheryl Coccimiglio (Mike), Michael Wahlstrom (Kim), Matthew and Jeffrey Swanston. Great grandmother of David, Nicole, Mariella and Erik Coccimiglio and Anders Wahlstrom. Predeceased by her parents Roy and Edna Johnston and her granddaughter Kristan Wahlstrom. Virena was a charter member of the Presbyterian Twilight Auxiliary and the Rockwood & District Lioness Club. She also volunteered for 23 years delivering Meals on Wheels, and in many other community functions.
Friends will be received at Rockmosa Community Centre, 110 Rockmosa Drive, Rockwood on Sunday 12:30-2:30 pm. Funeral service follow on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 2:30 pm. Reception to follow at Rockmosa Hall. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
