On the morning of Tuesday, March 1st, 2022, Lorne Gladstone Tolton passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of over 63 years, Audrey (nee Nurse), his children Bruce (Michelle), the late Robert (2001) (Gail), Sharon (Mike) and Paul (Janny), grandchildren Charlotte (Jared), Jeffrey, Ashley (David), Brendan, Caroline and Skyla, and great-grandchildren Elliot and Jackson. Lorne will also be fondly remembered by his dear friends and extended family, including Devin and Jessica. Predeceased by his parents Gladstone and Kathleen Tolton, brothers Wes and Owen, and sister Marion (Sindall).
Lorne dedicated his life to his family and cherished every minute with them. He was always there for them, providing encouragement, guidance and unconditional love and support through life’s ups and downs. He enjoyed country music, dancing, steam shows, travel and gardening.
Lorne’s work life included farming in Hillsburgh, Ontario and over 30 years as a land survey technologist in the Guelph area. His strong work ethic and positive outlook helped him to successfully overcome many challenges and his perseverance and resilience made him a humble role model for his family.
Cremation has been entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk Street, Guelph. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 3 from 11-12 noon. Service to follow at noon. Guests may also attend remotely via Zoom by clicking the link on the funeral home website: www.wallcustance.com. Reception to follow. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph at a later date.
