Passed away, at 78 years of age, at the Guelph General Hospital, Guelph, Ontario, on May 7, 2016. Angelo passed away courageously, steadfastly and resolutely. He leaves behind a legacy of family values and a work ethic that inspires his family. Angelo was the beloved husband, for 56 years, of Rita (nee Bortolon). He was the devoted father to David (Heidi), Barbara (Paul Zen), Susan (Karen), Anna (David Burke), and Mark (Leslie). Angelo was the proud nonno to 13 grandchildren: John, Joseph, Ben, and Brett; Erica, Donna, and Matthew; Jack, Grace and Liam; and Nicole, Jake and Stan.

Born August 10, 1937, in Casacorba di Vedelago, Italy, to Augusta (nee Gemin) and Tullio Tonin, Angelo was the youngest of eight children. He is survived by sisters Antonia and Maria Pia of Casacorba, Italy. Angelo was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Bruno, Ida, Vito, Gino and Norma. He emigrated from Italy to Guelph, in 1956, where he adapted happily to a world replete with opportunity, new friends, and new paths.

Angelo’s legacy is borne of loyalty, a deep-rooted love of family, and his forever delightful and youthful charms. Angelo worked hard, loved and cherished life, and he will be remembered for opening his heart and home to all. His unwavering commitment to that which mattered to him – the gift of every day, a hearty laugh, the company of those he cherished, and an anima replete and overflowing with grace, love, and generosity.
