VALLESI, Ronald Anthony

Posted

After a brief illness, our big loveable Ron passed away on March 30, 2018. Born in Hamilton on April 17, 1962 to Romeo and Frances (Grace) Vallesi. The family soon moved to Guelph where Ron attended school and made a wealth of friends, from Newfoundland to British Columbia and down into the United States.

The life of the party, great sense of humour, he loved being surrounded by people, and "living large".

Not always the armchair athlete, wearing #13, he actively played sports, whether it was baseball (proud to be a Royals Baseball “Coach Ron”), basketball, rugby, golf, (he twice shot a hole in one), hockey, darts, bowling, or horseshoes. He was proud of his Athlete of the Year Trophy. Ron was a diehard Buffalo Sabres fan and even more so, the Bills. Every year he looked forward to hosting the Vallesi Cup in Sauble Beach. He played euchre, Texas Hold'em, and pretty much any game involving a deck of cards. He enjoyed just having a good time, sitting around the bonfire at the cottage listening to tunes with family and friends, and trying to see a shooting star.

Ron will be missed by his daughter Lindsay and son-in-law Bang Ly. Ron was a proud Papa to his two grandchildren, Henry and Lydia. He is survived by his three sisters, Trudy, Angie (Don Richardson) and Marcie and his brother, John (Gloria), his nieces and nephews, John Graham, Jr., Kassandra, Mya, Dwayne (Trish), Erik (Jacki), Craig, Danielle, Alex, and Aunt Lucy and Uncle Russ Ecker. He is deeply missed and fondly remembered by cousins, friends and co-workers. Loved and truly missed by his good friend, Wendy Arrowsmith. Gone but never forgotten, loved always by all who knew him.

We are very grateful for the wonderful and compassionate treatment he received at the Guelph General in the ER and from the 5th floor West medical team.

Following his wishes, Ron has been cremated and will be buried with his Mother at Sauble Beach, during a private family service. In lieu of a donation to charity, would you please sign up for organ donation on your Drivers Licence and encourage others to do so. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph. 519-822-4731
