Passed away at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph, on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Wilbur John Weiler, in his 99th year, was the dear father of Anne (Wayne) Koebel of New Hamburg, Paul (Bonnie) of Kitchener, Joan (Graham) of Powell River, BC, William (Debbie) of Sudbury, Marion Smith of Lively, Judy (John) Chandler of Devon, England, Peter of Etobicoke, Susan (Brett) MacKillop of Scarborough, Margaret Fleming (Al Rand) of Kitchener and Stephen (Lori) of Brampton. Wilbur is survived by 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is survived by sisters Betty Weiler and Mary Fitton, and by a sister-in-law June, all of Guelph. Wilbur was predeceased by his wife Bertha, a daughter-in-law Gail and by siblings Howard (Isabel), Dorothy (Ken) Martin, William (Jean) and Jack, by a brother-in-law Wilfred Fitton and by a grandson Joe Fischer.
Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Wilbur will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation, Guelph, or to the Church of Our Lady Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
