Passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at St. Joseph's Health
Centre surrounded by his family. Born in Holland in 1938. Husband of Pat
Westerveld (nee Schram). Father of Leanne Westerveld and the late Tammy
Westerveld-Francisco (2011). Opa to Lucas, Sydney, Marina, Eridania and
the late Eva (2011). Abe is also survived by his brother Leo and twin
brother Harry, as well as many nieces and nephews in Holland and Canada.
He is predeceased by his parents Abraham and Rinske Westerveld, brothers
Joop and Jan and sisters Marie Heslinga and Alice Popp. Pat and Abe were
married in March 1961. They loved to go dancing, travelling and went on
a few cruises together. Abe also loved soccer and for a few years was in
the Guelph Royalaires Drum and Bugle Corps.
Friends will be received at:
Gilbert MacIntyre and Son-Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. on Sunday from 2
to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. For those wishing to attend, you must register at
gilbertmacintyreandson.com. Masks must be worn and social distancing
protocols remain in effect. The service will be private but will be
livestreamed via ZOOM on Monday, September 20, 2021 beginning at 1 p.m.
