ZADUK Lorna Marguerite

Mrs. Lorna Zaduk, of Guelph, passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in her 91st year.

Lorna was born in Toronto on July 8, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Lorne and Helen Aljoe of Durham. On November 4, 1950 Lorna married William (Bill) Zaduk in Guelph.  Sadly, Bill predeceased her in 2010.

Lorna is survived by her cherished sisters, Evelyn Patterson, Helen Smith, Doreen Fryer, Ada (Harry) Styles, Beatrice (Hartmut) Ridderbusch, Sharon Burgess; her sister-in-law Betty Aljoe; many nieces and nephews; and her dearest long-time friend, of 85 plus years, Edna Cape.

Predeceased by her sister Norma Barrett; brothers Vernon Aljoe, William Aljoe, Arthur Aljoe, Murray Aljoe; sister-in-law Isabelle Aljoe; and brothers-in-law Edgar Patterson and Dave Burgess. Lorna dearly loved and missed her family members who left this earth too soon.

Lorna was an avid golfer and was a member of Cutten Fields for over 50 years.  Bill and Lorna were former owners of the Conestoga Golf and Country Club, as well as many other enterprises throughout the years.  They enjoyed travelling the world together and a lot of their trips were golf related.  They both anticipated their yearly trip to Palm Springs where Bill participated in the Frank Sinatra Charity Classic.

Lorna will be remembered for her love of her family, zest for life, generosity, wit, sense of humour, beauty and her passion for music and dancing.

Friends are invited to join the family at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph (519-821-5077) on Sunday, April 23rd, where visitation with take place between 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Lorna’s life will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Memorial donation to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Evergreen Seniors Centre Guelph would be appreciated.
