Ontario reports 864 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, three deaths

Ontario reported 864 new cases of COVID-19 and three more deaths from the virus on Thursday.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says 655 of the infected people are not vaccinated or have unknown vaccination status. 

She says 209 of the infected people are fully vaccinated.

The new case numbers are based on 34,365 completed tests.

There are 191 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illness, including 120 people on ventilators. 

The province says 84 per cent of residents aged 12 and older have one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 78 per cent have received both shots.
