TOWN OF MINTO - On May 22, 2017 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a pellet gun being used to shoot out the window of a van while it was travelling down King St., Town of Palmerston.
Police attended and were advised that a male victim was operating his vehicle driving southbound on King St. when he noticed two parties standing on the west side of the road wearing camouflage clothing.
They were holding what appeared to be a long gun, which was later determined to be a pellet gun. The back window of the victim's Dodge minivan was then shot out. The victim stopped and returned to the location, saw the two parties and called police.
Investigation also revealed that a citizen working outside of her home at that location was hit by a pellet from the pellet gun being fired.
A 12-year-old male from Palmerston was charged with mischief and assault with a weapon. He was released on a Promise to Appear.
