17-year-old charged with second degree murder in connection to Elmira woman's death

WATERLOO REGION - On Dec. 27, 2017, Waterloo Regional Police arrested a 17-year-old male in connection to the suspicious death of Elizabeth Alder, 57. The male was arrested on Farmers Market Lane, Waterloo earlier (Wednesday) afternoon.

The victim was found deceased in a residence in Elmira on Dec. 25, 2017.

The accused was arrested for second degree murder and will be attending court (Thursday). Further particulars relating to his identity will not be provided by police.

Members of the Major Crime Branch and Forensic Identification Branch are continuing to investigate and an increased police presence is expected to continue in the area of Falcon Drive in Elmira.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service would like to thank the community and members of the media for their cooperation during this investigation.
