17-year-old faces drug charges

He was found with significant amounts of cocaine, psilocybin and cannabis, police say

On the evening of July 15, 2019, [it is alleged that] a male youth confronted another male youth at a commercial plaza on the east end of the city, demanding his wallet. The victim refused and ran into a nearby business. The accused followed and forcefully pinned the victim up against the inside door of the store. The accused was unable to locate the victim’s wallet and soon fled on foot.

Soon after, police located the accused a short distance away. A search of the accused incident to arrest revealed that he possessed a large amount of cash and a significant amount of cocaine, psilocybin and cannabis.

A 17-year-old Guelph male has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking S. 5(2) CDSA and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling S. 10(2) Cannabis Act. He will appear in court for a bail hearing on July 16.
