TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Nov. 5, 2019 at approximately 8 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7 near the hamlet of Ponsonby. The officer observed a red pick-up truck travelling above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 140 km/h.
As a result, Riley Wade Strub, 19 years old of Centre Wellington has been charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice - Provincial Offences Court on Feb. 20, 2020.
