Pedestrian in serious condition after collision

On September 24, 2016 at approximately 12:05 p.m., the Guelph Police, Guelph Fire and GWEMS were called to the intersection of Speedvale Avenue West & Royal Road where it was reported that a pedestrian had been struck. 

A 25-year-old male resident of Guelph had been struck by an Eastbound 2003 Ford Escape while trying to cross Northbound across Speedvale on the West side of the intersection. 

The male suffered serious injuries and was transported to Guelph General Hospital and then airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital where he remains in serious condition.

The intersection was shut down for several hours while Guelph Police continued to investigate.

At this time no charges have been laid.
