82-year-old driver clocked doing almost two times the speed limit on the Hanlon

On Feb. 21 at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting radar and speed enforcement on Hanlon Expressway near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a blue passenger vehicle travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The motor vehicle was locked on radar at a speed of 150 km/h.

Graham Jack DURANT, 82-years-old of Chesterville, has been charged with Stunt Driving-Excessive Speed, Speeding, and Drive with Seatbelt Modified contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Provincial Offences Court-Guelph on June 2, 2021. Their vehicle and driver's licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
